Astrovision was formed in 1980 to produce game consoles. The company obtained the rights to produce the Bally Professional Arcade under its own brand from Bally Manufacturing. In 1981, sales were $10 million.
One of the more interesting options for the Astro Arcade (also referred to as Astrocade) is the ZGRASS-32 personal computer module, which allowed the system to perform as a microcomputer. Astrovision claimed more than 60 game cartridges for the Astro Arcade by 1982.
