Camputers (U.K.)

Camputers was one of many British companies that hoped to ride the coattails of Sinclair’s success. It offered two home computer designs, the Lynx 48/96 and the faster and more upgradeable Lynx 128. Most Lynx systems were sold in the U.K.

Camputers Lynx 48 (1983, home computer)
Base Configuration: 4MHz Z80A CPU; 48K RAM (192K max); 16K ROM; RGB video port; integral keyboard; RS-232C, parallel, and cassette ports

Camputers Lynx 128 (1984, home computer)
Base Configuration: 6MHz Z80B CPU; Lynx DOS; 128K RAM; 24K ROM; 5.25-inch floppy disk drive; RGB video port; integral keyboard; RS-232, parallel, cassette, and light-pen ports; Lynx BASIC in ROM, AC adapter
Video: 24-line x 80-column text, 512 x 480 graphics, eight colors
Size/Weight: 12.5 x 7.8 x 2.7 inches, 4.4 lbs.
Important Options: cassette recorder, light pen
