Spectravideo Inc. (Great Neck, N.Y.)

Spectravideo produced several lines of well-regarded home computers in the early 1980s. It also produced a popular line of games for Atari systems under the Spectravision name. The company, like many others of the time, ran into difficulty in 1984 and was forced to sell a controlling interest to Bondwell Holding Ltd. of Hong Kong. The Spectravideo brand and products were discontinued, and a restructured company began selling Bondwell-branded PC-compatible laptop and desktop computers.

The SVI-728 was the first U.S.-made MSX computer.
